A wide range of public services are available to the people of Kirkby from and through a wide range of organisations
Knowsley Council provide a range of local services ranging from the rubbish collections to the registry office, and from democratic services to day centres.

Postal services are primarily provided by the Royal Mail and Post Office, with some parcel collection points provided by Collect+.
The flood warning information service provides information on the water level of the River Alt at Kirkby Gold Course and a map of current flood risk. There are also general maps of risks from rivers and risks from surface water throughout Kirkby.
Urgent and non-urgent healthcare services are provided by a number of different public health organisations. There are a number of Armed Forces units located near Kirkby including elements of the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and British Army.
